Music and wing flapping sound and bird call to crescendo at same time as downward spot goes to full power and Fgm holds arms wide open and holds face up to the light.
She then circles in the downward spot.

Well, you know those big producers who came to see the show. They're going to sign us up now and as soon as we finish our exams we'll take the show all round the world and then we'll star in the film version.

VKA

But guess where the tour is going to start

(she goes and picks it up and gives it to Fgm)

(Fgm gives the real magic wand back to Tootsie.
Vka and Fgm search in folds of Fgm's dress.
Vka pulls out wrong wand and holds it up against real magic wand held by Tootsie)
VKA
This is the real magic wand
(she takes it from Tootsie)
And this old twig you can chuck in the pond
(she throws wrong wand away)
MILLIE
But what about that magic spell
FGM
That I first put on you? Well
Without my proper magic wand, no spell.
VKA
No wand, no spell. It's the laws.
She could just as well have read the football scores
MILLIE
You mean, we produced that show without any magic, we did it by ourselves? The words, the songs, the music and dance?
FGM
You did it all, no help from me
But magic? Yes there was
Because, you made your own, you cast your spell, you made your mark

Personal props: Fgm - bottle of white liquid with silver thread
book of spells, real magic wand
Griselda - black pot from stage right)

(to Millie)
What's going on?
MILLIE
Hm, we need to let you into a little secret. These ladies are not our grandmothers, they're actually our Fgm and her friends, and they want to make some magic to bring the stone eagle to life.
HM
Magic? Are there any mushrooms involved in this?
MILLIE
No
HM
Oh. Shame. Never mind. You carry on and we'll help if we can, won't we?
ALL CAST
Yes!
FGM
Will you can help us, Griselda
Set free our eagle, Aramides
GRISELDA
With all my heart and soul I will
Help you to make the magic till
We set him free.
We'll need a pot
(A black pot comes on stage)
FGM
Where's that bottle of magic stuff
(she searches in folds of dress and finds it)
Here it is.
(She pours the white potion into the pot and stirs wand round in the pot)
That's enough.
VKA
First we stir and then we splash
(Fgm uses wand to splash liquid from pot onto eagle)
Now we'll give the spell a bash
(Fgm puts pot and wand down, then brings book out of pocket in dress.
Fgm and Griselda leaf through pages together, then point in the book)
FGM
That should do. Let's have a go.
Great stone eagle in a plight
GRISELDA
You can now take off this night
VKA
For a trip to the Isle of Wight
(Fgm waves her wand. Lots of bangs and crashes on drums. They all look up at eagle. Still there)
VKA
Well that did not go by the book
Let's have another look
(she looks in spell book)
Oo, it says here,
In the case of malfunction, spit out any chewing gum
(she checks round cast)
Anybody chewing any gum? (cast say - no, not me, shrug shoulders)

(Raise eagle slowly to above line of sight from audience
