The show begins with a rip roaring song
The cast all dance with gusto
With great panache they move along
They’re going for glory or busto.
The plot unfolds, they tell their story
It’s all quite sweet, nothing gory.
We’re dashing through our heroes’ play
We’ll pick out the main points on the way
(Ronnie and Tootsie enter stage right and walk arm in arm to centre. M Cmbt enters stage left with black wand as wicked witch and malevolently confronts Ronnie and Tootsie. Ronnie picks up polystyrene plank and goes to bash M Cmbt with it, but knocks Tootsie on head instead by accident. She is dazed, recovers, looks off stage right, puts fingers in mouth, pretend whistle, summons on from right Mr C with white sparkly wand who has comic confrontation with M Cmbt and chases him off left.
‘The Man Says No’ music stops)
FGM
The show now nears its interval
And one and all are having a ball
They are such a happy throng

The cast are pleased, they cannot hide
Their glee. They’re full of hopes.Their interval has now arrived
(band stop playing and start to get up)

(they moan and sit down again)
In the interval of their great show,
Our heroes have a chat
You listen in to hear what’s said

(Fgm and Vka exit stage right taking stools
Lights up
Millie and Ronnie enter left)
RONNIE
The first half of the show has gone brilliantly. Let’s hope the second half is as good.
MILLIE
It will be. Shame Garry’s not here to share it with us. I’m still so angry with him. How could I have been so wrong about him? You were the last one to see him before he went, what were you talking about?
RONNIE
Oh, nothing special
MILLIE
I do hope he’ll be alright. If he brings back that bottle of magic potion and frees the stone eagle, it will be amazing. You’re very quiet. What’s up?………….You know something don’t you?
(Ronnie says nothing. Tootsie enters left)
Did he tell you something before he went? (Ronnie looks nervous)
He did, didn’t he………Tell me ……tell me what he said ……
(Millie, angry now, grabs Ronnie)

RONNIE
I am sworn to secrecy by Garry. I cannot break his trust. I promised him.
TOOTSIE
You may have promised him, Ronnie, but I didn’t. I heard you talking.
RONNIE

MILLIE

TOOTSIE
The Fgm chose him to go because he had the best protection against the WW.
MILLIE
The best protection? How?
TOOTSIE
Because he is the first born child of a first born child. The Fgm said such a person had the best chance against the evil powers of the WW.
MILLIE
And I have an older brother and sister
TOOTSIE
He said he would rather go with you hating him because if he didn’t come back, then you wouldn’t be upset, no problem……….and there was one more thing he said before he left
RONNIE
Don’t tell her
MILLIE

TOOTSIE

MILLIE (wails)

(she buries her face in her hands. Tootsie puts her arms round her)
RONNIE
Why did you tell her? Look how upset she is. There’s nothing we can do to help Garry
TOOTSIE

We can ask the Fgm to send a special spell to protect him
RONNIE

(Fgm enters stage right)

Oh Fairy Godmother please help me. I’ve made a terrible mistake. I thought Garry tricked me to stop me going to the land of the Ww. But he was trying to help me and I was horrible to him. Now he’s gone and I may never see him again. Please, you’ve got to make a magic spell to bring him home safely. Please help me.

Curtains open OR lights come up stage right to reveal Ww’s cave in dim light.
Garry sits on floor stage right at mouth of Ww’s cave.
Garry and Millie with elves are in two separate pools of light. Rest of stage is dark.

Plumber - plunger, big spanner, cup and plate)
MILLIE (singing)

GARRY (he raises his face and calls out)
